Question

Loss of sound on Samsung smart tv

by mjk91053 / February 28, 2014 4:56 AM PST

I own a samsung smart TV model UN55F6350AFXZA. It is 3 months old. Turn TV on and begin to watch a HD station (I have AT&T Uverse as cable provider). After about 5-10 minutes I loss the audio, video is fine. I shut the TV off, turn it back on but I now have a non-hd channel on, no problems with the audio or video, works great until I swith it to a HD station then after several minutes I loss the audio again. My cable provider changed the cable box and HDMI cable and still experience the same issue. Anyone experience the same thing, if so how was it resolved. HELP!!

Hi mjk91053,

Sorry to hear you are having this issue. Are you using a home theater or just the TV speakers for audio?

Regards,
HD Tech

Only using the TV Speakers for audio.

This still sounds like a provider issue

My advice? Inquire w/ the ATT UVERSE forum discussion group directly. I've helped enough people w/ ATT related problems that I know it can certainly be frustrating to get to the bottom of any issue. Link:

Did you verify that the tech tried using other HDMI ports on the HDTV(?)

In the meantime-

-Bring in another HDTV to test out the same signal/audio feed. FWIW, if a friend or co-worker doesn't have one to lend, you can rent them from some places.

Thanks for the information. Yes we did check all other HDMI ports with the same results. I will check the AT&T forum. I like your idea about setting up another TV to see if the same problem exists. That will tell me if it's cable provider problem or TV problem.
