Losing connection on wireless

I'm using Linksys Wireless G Cable Gateway. This is directly connected to my desktop. I am using Linksys Wireless PC card for my laptop. This is 802.11b which is compatible with the G Gateway. I was using my laptop a room away for a few hours with no problem, then I would lose the connection and it would then come back. This happened several times. Toward the end of the evening the connection has not come back. What could be the problem?

Just discussed at http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-7589-0.html?forumID=62&threadID=40094&messageID=470417 the issue might be helped with a repeater. The factors are usually walls, distance and interference.

Your connection is open to interference from other 2.4GHzz sources.
