Check settings for router. I have a Linksys router and have it set so only a certain number of computers can connect at a time. That would explain why one more connecting would stop another one
My in-laws have a linksys router. I have the same router at my home with no problems at all even with 4 computers connected to the internet at the same time and all wirelessly. My in-laws are having a few problems. They have a desktop that is connected to the router via ethernet and up to two laptops that connect wirelessly. The problem is that when the desktop is connected and one of the laptops connect, the desktop sometimes loses connection. It seems that when one oomputer is connected and another tries to connect, they computers have issues. Usually both are able to connect, but it is aggravating to lose connection when another connects and sometimes the computers will lose connections at times and have to be reconnected. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the issues? Thanks.
