Any competent electronics technician can disassemble the laptop, look it over and solder the connection back into place if that is the issue. Figure from free (you do buy lunch) to 200 bucks.
After that, you have repair centers like the laptop maker or www.notefix.com
I have a Compaq Presario 1800T that has a loose connection where the AC charger plugs in. Sometimes the AC cord connects and sometimes it doesn't, which means the computer may run out of juice and shut down without warning. This makes presentations quite unpredictable and exciting!
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions on how to tighten up this connection or replace a part that will solve the problem.
