Loopback adapter

Hi all,

I have an application that requires a network address to work. I have installed it on a laptop and it works fine. The annoyance is that when the application loads it takes an age to access the database.

The database is a MySQL database, when normal execution on a machine connection to a network the speed is fine.

Does anyone have any idea as to why adding a loopback adapter would slow down access so much.

And I didn't install the loopback adapter since I knew to use 127.0.0.1 for the local connection. I have run into a few that insist that doesn't work and they end up with the "loopback adapter" with the issue you note. I can't help them.
