Loop recording

Nov 18, 2010 11:20PM PST

I am looking for a small camera that I can mount on my motorcycle. It should record on, say, a ten-second loop, so that if anything happens in front of me that I want to record, I can hit a button on the handlebars and start recording from ten seconds ago until I press the button again to stop it. It will need to operate on a 12 volt supply and be reasonably priced. Any ideas anyone?

These do exist. I couldn't find one to reccomend today but will later if I find one that I was thinking.

The units run from 99 to 999 bucks with some using a SD card.

Loop recording

Thanks for the help, but I can't see any loop facility on the Smarty Car camera. It looks pretty similar to one offered by Dogcam (try Googling if you're interested) - essentially a device for employers to record accidents through a g-force trigger and keep tabs on their staff. I'm looking for something that will routinely record on a 10-second loop. Any other ideas? I'm completely new to this, so I haven't a clue.

You may look for a very long time for a 10 second loop.

My buddy has the smarty and it does do a loop according to him so at the size and price I thought it was close enough.

If you insist on a 10 second loop then I have to say I've never found such. Sadly it may not exist because the units that we have now work but miss your 10 second loop requirement.

How much is this worth to do? If you need a few thousand I think I know someone.
