Seems like an OK PC

Given you didn't tell why it needed any upgrade, I would not be able to see if you wanted overall speed a SSD would give or if gaming was the goal which we change the GPU up to say a 980 Nvidia.

thanks

a ssd was one thing i was considering for better speed, also the other thing was my graphics card but was not sure if i need another of the same card or if i can run this card and another together or if i need to ditch the old card?

Hard to know this one.

For example if you wanted to play newer games with more detail, nod to the GPU but the 770 will do for a little longer.

Ram

Your cpu supports 1600 ram.
Your mobo supports dual channel.

Is there some reason your running 1333 ram in single channel mode?

this is how its setup but i think its wrong

Ask the builder

Why does the machine not have 1600 ram?
Why is the ram set up in single channel mode?

I suspect that dual channel will use slots 1+3 or 2+4.

If your handy move the ram stick from slot 2 to slot 3...test.

Ram

Power the machine off and unplug it....the power cord.
Ground yourself first by touching bare metal on the case.
Move the ram stick from slot 3 to slot 2.

Replug the machine and power on.
Test if the machine now shows dual channel.
Even if it does don't expect any serious magic....it's called baby steps.

there in slots 1 and 3

its showing duel channel now, should i still move the one from 3 to 2?

- Collapse -
No

It's slots 1+3 'or' 2+4....your choice.
Since it now shows dual channel that's good.
Run the machine and do some testing....make sure it's stable.
