Question

Looking to upgrade old Point & Shoot for upcoming vacation

Jun 7, 2012 1:29AM PDT

Hi all - looking to upgrade an outdated Canon SD450, to something newer (feature rich, great low light & outdoor photos, clarity, portable / vacation friendly, sub-$400); any thoughts on the below? or recommend something different?

(1) Canon PowerShot ELPH 520 HS
(2) Canon PowerShot ELPH 320 HS
(3) Canon PowerShot ELPH 110 HS
(4) Canon PowerShot S100

Thanks,
Jay

S100

The S100 is the best of those you listed. Naturally it is the most expensive as well. It has a brighter lens and a slightly larger imaging sensor which nets higher quality images.

If you want a lot of cool toys to play with, the new Sony HX20V has every trick in the book. Cnet review the HX30V and gave it four stars; the HX20V is identical except for not having the built-in WiFi.

Thanks!

S100 seems to be a good pick of the 4 I previously listed. The Sony HX20V looks fantastic. I personally have never used a Sony Digital Camera - however that would be your suggestion over the S100?

In terms of comparison, I see that the Sony has the edge in terms of megapixels, digital zoom, as well as features; seems like a good option to consider.

Any other ideas? Thanks all.

Hi also, wanted to know people's thoughts about the Canon S100 vs. the Nikon COOLPIX P7100?
