Looking to create a slide show with captions...

I'm looking for an easy XP photo software program that will allow creation of a slide show with captions or descriptions under the pictures. I'm not very tech savvy, but would like to create CDs that will play on a TV and perform the same as my Yahoo photos slide show does: ie, each picture and its description both appear on the screen. I know that I can do this in a photo program by adding text right on top of the picture, but some of my descriptions are rather lengthy and I don't want them on the picture itself. I'm also familiar with doing this by creation of a collage (in Photosuite) - on a blank canvas with text beneath the picture. However, this would be very time consuming to do with each of my many pictures. If there aren't any software programs that can create a yahoo photos type slide show, is there a way of downloading my existing yahoo photos slide show onto a CD that will play on a TV?
