Looking to buy new camcorder, need help

Jan 29, 2006 2:16AM PST

Okay, well I'm looking to buy a new camcorder. I'd like to record onto a medium that I can easily hook up to my computer and move onto. From there I'd like to digitally edit the video. In battery life, I'd like the longest I can get. Video quality doesn't have to be out of the park good, or even expensive good, just not crappy. I'm not looking for something huge, maybe something not very big and maybe light. So to restate my needs:

- Records onto a medium that can be hooked up to my computer and transfered so that I can edit it in video editting software.

- Battery life needs to be good, not super expensive good, but good.

- Video quality needs to be nice, but I'm just going to be shooting some parties, and stuff, so nothing wallet breaking.

- Camcorder needs to not be huge, and easy to carry around and not get ultra tired really quickly.

Any suggestions? Prices would be needed too.
