Optical zoom is the only zoom that you should consider.

Forget about digital zoom.
Anything that digital zoom can do, software can do the same thing better.
With software, it is called cropping.

According to the Kodak website, they do not have a Z710.
They do have a P710.

Here is the comparison of those specifications:

The Kodak P710 sells for about $150 more that the Fujifilm S5200.

Thanks Snap Shot,
I did find the Kodak z710 on CNET .. the only marked difference I can find is the memory cards ....and the CNET rating for the Kodak is 6.0 where the Fuji s5200 is 7.4 .. I realize that its bulky also ..but I am guessing its the better of the 2 .....her primnarly reason for it ..she wants better telephoto and zoom capibilities . I appreciate your time
