I am going to be buying a DVD recorder as a gift. The person I'm buying for has an older one they got several years ago, but it isn't working as good as it used to and the DVDs are no longer sold in stores, so it is hard to find them. So, I'm looking to get a new one, but I can't seem to figure out what to go with. Here is what I am looking at:
Locally the only recorder I can find is this: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10574442 and I'm not very happy with the reviews on it, so I don't think that will be a good option.
So I went out of town and found this: http://www.amazon.com/Sony-VRDMC5-DVDirect-DVD-Recorder/dp/B000SML2BQ/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1228325360&sr=8-1 which I think may be a good choice, but again, I'm not sure if this is the best option available.
Finally, with several computers that can record DVDs I'm thinking that it may work just as good if they were to hook up their camcorder to the computer and record, but I don't really know what would be needed, if this is a good options etc.
I just want a player that will be reliable, easy to use, easy to find DVDs for and compatible with as many players as possible.
Thanks so much for any help!
