If you figure 10 feet is about 120 inches, you'll want around a 50-56" television - of course, that's just a general suggested distance. Personal preference should always dictate.
The best way to really know is to stand the distance from where you'll be sitting while looking at the models in the store. If you can encompass the entire picture without moving your eyes too much, then you'll be doing good. While having a huge screen is always impressive, having to look left and right constantly causes eye fatigue and takes away from the movie or TV experience. My suggestion would be to choose one that doesn't require to have to look left and right all the time.
