Question

Looking For: Video Lyrics Overlay/Watermark From MIDI File

Aug 1, 2012 3:45PM PDT

I've looked everywhere for a tool that can:

1) Take a video file,
2) ...and a MIDI file (With Lyrics)

and produce a video that shows the specified video, with the lyrics pasted on to the video at a specified start point...

Im not looking for anything amazing... Imagine filming on camcorder a wedding karaoke, and you want to paste the lyrics on top of the recording to make a custom and personal home karaoke video as a wedding present...

There must be software out there like this, but i just cant find it... I would imagine that something like this is easy to program....

Please help me... Thank you

Ive had a search for harsub, but hardsub seems to be a technique, not a name of software...

Ive had a look now for software that can 'hardsub', and one was incompatable with win7, (I have mac also), i tried a few other tools but nothing seems to do the job...

there must be something out there?

R. Proffitt, do you recommend any particular software in mind? can you link me?

No.

Sorry no. Hardsub software is out there but if you can't find that then you won't like the software either since it has you looking at web pages on its use.

Maybe there is nothing for you today.

Answer
Try Jubler

To do a hardsub you need to make an .srt file to embed in your video. Jubler is an .srt editor. Then you'll need a program like Avidemux to embed your srt file. The beauty of Jubler is you can highlight the text for the karaoke parts.

I found this Jubler tutorial to get you started.
