General discussion

looking for this type of cell phone

Jul 25, 2005 7:51AM PDT

I have a plan with Verizon. And in November I am due for my 2 year upgrade and discount. The problem is my nokia cell phone has decided to retire early.

I decided to buy a used cheap phone until november and I bought one that didn't work with my plan. SO I learned my lesson and I lost my money.

Out of frustration and desperate need of a phone I decided to give up on my November plan with Verizon and just get one off of ebay (for probably the same amount as my discout).

My question is which is the best phone for me.
These are the features I want:

*flip phone
*Able to store lots of numbers, names, email addresses and home addresses.
*Calculator
*Calendar with a daily planner
*Appointment reminder
*Alarm clock
*decent camera (that photographs inside)
*comes with a case
*able to hook up to outlook would be great

Do I need soft ware? And if so how many programs and how much are they?

I dont care if it has internet. I noticed as I have been looking at the interent that many PDA phones have problems with their screens. So PDA isn't my first choice.

Thanks in advance,

Tania

phone scoop

You should try going to phonescoop.com, then click on "phone finder". It gives you this really long list of stuff you can sort by. You can also tell it how important each feature is to you from "compare only" to "required".
I'm also in the market for a phone, and, although I haven't narrowed it all the way down to just one phone, cnet and phone scoop have really helped.

Hope this helps.

You must get an E911 phone as of August 6!!

just so you know Verizon will not activate a phone that doesnt have GPS also known as E911 so make sure whatever phone you get has it. Is there a craigslist.org for your city? I have good luck there getting replacement phones. Also Motorola.com and Kyocera.com both sell new phones without service
