I have an OLD archos av420... it has to be like 4+ years old and all I have to do is plug it in, and it is recognized as a storage device. I have an even older creative nomad (7 years) that needs drivers to be installed, and then it works.
I don't know about those horrible ipods, but most mp3 players should be recognized as a storage device, requiring no software to use them at all. All you have to do is drag and drop music in Windows Explorer.
Does anyone know of a basic portable MP3 player (to use for listening to music on trains!)
I bought one from Argos, but it had to go back, as the instructions with it were for Windows XP. I have a very new computer, so need an MP3 player + instructions that use Windows Vista for set-up.
Other than that, I'm not fussy. 500 tracks capacity would be OK - easy to operate, and reliable. Creative Zen seems to be everywhere. Any ideas?
