Looking for review of ON_LINE SALES software applilcations

Oct 11, 2004 4:47AM PDT

We are a very small business but we do need an online sales and calendaring tool. I wish we could afford SalesForces tool- but, they are far too expensive and have storage limitations.
I have heard and looked into NowSoftware - but they not as sophisticated on the Sales pipeline side of things.
any ideas?

Let me share that a some 50 million buck a year company needed to get online to sell part of their product line. After 2 years of debate, one employee (with the CEO's blessing) opened a shop on Ebay. That was two years ago and they've accomplished their goals.

Your post is light in details, but Calendaring is another one of those minefields. It's not well defined in your post and I'm unsure if am opensource solution will do. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=open+source+calendaring

But there are solutions.

You are correct- sorry for being light on the details. Currently we are using ACT! for our sales and pipeline management. I have my sales guys, each with a copy of Act! on their laptops. Act! is (as you know) a desktop app- so I cant access it when it is on their laptops to check their notes and make sure that calls are being done.
I would like to purchase on ON-LINE sales tool - that would allow me and the sales guys to have remote access to our accounts.
In addition, it would be nice to have an on-line calendar tool as well.
SalesForce.com is a great tool - just too expensive for us rigth now. At min it would run us about $3500 per year (ouuch!)

Thank you for your input!

At http://sourceforge.net/search/ type in the SEARCH the two words...

SALES FORCE and you can page past the sponsered links to find the current developments.

These will cost zero if you have the drive to install a server and just do it...

I use a MySQL solution...
