Looking for program to be able to transfer large files

Hey

I am looking for some sort of program for sending large sound files, they are about 100Mb total. Takes forever to email. Is there a fast way to send those files between 2 computers on different locations?

I am using Win XP and my colleague uses Vista. We both have broadband connections, I have 2mbit, my colleague has 10mbit.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a file splitter?

In reply to: Looking for program to be able to transfer large files

Unfortunately I cannot recommend any free, trustworthy options that let users share files over 100MB with a restricted audience. (Not sharing with the general public.) However, you could use a file splitter to dive it into 50MB chunks, then share it for free using either AFileForYou or SkyDrive, both of which let you control who can access the file(s) you upload. GSplit is a good, free file splitter to get you started.

Hope this helps,
John

Re: sending large files

Possibilities:

1. If not in a hurry: burn to CD and send by snail mail.
2. Install a FTP-server on one of the machines. That's a nice solution if it's a repeatable task.
3. Put it your website and mail a link. Takes 2 transfers, to and from the webserver.
4. Variation on 3: rent some web-based storage space.
5. Use a service like yousendit.com. That's the commercial variant of 3 and 4.
