Looking for new pc, use video & music frequently???

Aug 8, 2005 4:43AM PDT

Okay, I'm a current Dell owner (4 yrs now). The corporation i work for exclusively uses dell products, so i got it through dell's employee purchase program. But I've gotten into video editing, lots of music, and need a computer (the one I have is pretty basic) that can handle pretty much everything except for gaming or business use. I am trying to find the best I can buy for $1500. I've had problems with my dell, cd-rom gone out, hard drive crashed TWICE. But it was under 3 yr. warranty and replaced each time, luckily. Is another dell good for me, what about Gateway, and would emachines be able to handle fairly extensive video/multimedia? Any help would be greatly appreciated and hopefully could relieve this headache I have over which to order!!

You actualy have a lot of room here to work with!!!
OK!! I'm from the build you own PC camp. With you budget you can build a very fast PC with premium parts, not the cheepest ones they can find as with the D company.

If you want a pre build also chech out Emacines and Gateway, Monarch computer is recomended by many.

Take sometime and look at other posts in this froum you question has been answerd many times. John
