Looking for new laptop

I'm in the market for a new laptop (High end, Games, Movies, ect. 2000$ish). My problem is I'd prefer not to go with Apple's Macbook Pro because of Apples limitations(Very frustrated with how Apple limits what you can do on the Iphone(Only apple experience I have) and assume it's the same for the Macbooks) but it seems to me everywhere I look nothing compares in looks, size , and weight, While the performance may be a little behind the curve its still acceptable. Any suggestions? The help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
