Looking for HP Laserjet 4P Win XP Drivers

by BSquared18 / May 2, 2007 4:03 AM PDT

This thread is related to one I started yesterday:

But I wanted to start fresh with a different approach. Basically, does anyone have or know where I can find drivers for an HP non-postscript Laserjet 4P printer operating under Windows XP? HP no longer has them on their site. I've tried with no luck.

The drivers on the Windows operating system aren't working, even after reinstalling them. The printer works on another Windows XP computer, so I know the printer isn't the problem.

If you have this driver and can post it in a .zip file on a website, that would be great.

Thanks! How to Install?
by BSquared18 / May 2, 2007 6:56 AM PDT
In reply to: Drivers

Thanks. I've downloaded the driver to a folder on my hard drive.

I started the process of adding a printer: Start --> Printers and Faxes --> Add Printer. I indicated "have disc" (meaning the file on my hard drive), but then the installation wizard expected to find an .inf file. The file I downloaded is an .exe file.

The upload note at said: "Driver from, for windows xp, download in a folder in your hard drive, and after installing from Start/printers or control panel printers, search the drive in the folder that you descompress the driver."

I'm not sure how to proceed. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Just double click

it will open an unzip box, take note of the folder or change it, click unzip, go back and do what you did before but now point to that new folder

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
