looking for headphones

hey everybody.
my old headphones broke, and im stuck with free airline headphones which make music sound like you're coughing through a tin can.

so, i guess i'm not that much of an audiophile, but i appreciate a good sound all the same. size does not matter to me, since i dont run while litsening to music, but I still am an average commuter.

I have 40$ to spent. i was thinking of the skullcandy's hesh or skullcrusher models, but a few bad reviews made me uneasy about them.
