This is for a friend they are looking for a new laptop they want it to be at Max 3,500 they only thing they want is around 6 hour battery life with general use no gaming involved, not really looking for anything too close to 3,000 we just want to find something that's not overly priced

You should have an abundance of choices. The problem is that for a good gaming laptop you find much less than 6 hours of battery time.

On top of that you really want 12 hours since batteries degrade fast so even in a year that battery that delivered 6 hours won't be guaranteed to be 6 hours. In fact with the usual 300 cycle rated battery it's considered to be still good at 300 cycles if the capacity is 50% of new.

But you think 300 is short? Easy to burn that many cycles if you charge at night and use during the day. A year has 365 days so in a year, you'll replace the battery every year UNLESS you find a laptop with a 12 hour battery.

-> So you are now Unicorn hunting. You may never find this one.

It will still run games

Ok now I understand you can't have great performance plus battery she's going to use it throughout the day for her school work but given her budget she wants to be able to run games in high graphics but she's not looking for extremely heavy either so at what price would it balance out?

That would be a laptop with about 12 hours of battery.

Probably but I think they just want the mobility

She says she has a family computer but they keep it in the living room and I'm pretty sure she just wants the option to play either in her after school classes or in her bedroom
