An excellent camera choice for such a task will run around $1,000. But there are less expensive cameras that can handle the task.

So, we need to know what your budget will allow.

A very key ingredient is lighting.
For small items, many people use the "light tents" which have translucent sides and top. These sell for about $150, with lights.

I suggest you get a copy of Porter's 120 page catalog.
They have a large selection of lighting and backdrop items.

Have them send you their catalog.
It gives you more information than their website.

Be sure and pick out a tripod too.
Close-up and Macro photography require a tripod.

Thank you for your comments! i was thinking more in line of a mega zoom camera witn around 6MP.

I was looking at Soney DSC H1 and H2, Connon S2 IS, Fuji Fine Pix s5200 and Kodack P7590Z

But whichever camera i buy the lighting will have a huge affect!

Of the cameras you listed, the Canon S2 and the Kodak P7590 can only focus down to 4 inches from the lens (10 and 12 cm) in macro mode.

The other cameras will let you focus down to less than 1 inch from the lens (1 and 2 cm).

The long zoom ability of any of those cameras will not be beneficial in close-up photography. So I assume you plan to use the cameras for general photograpy too.

If you wanted a camera just for business, I would suggest the Canon A620 (7 megapixels). It has a 1 cm focus in macro mode. And it has a swivel and tilt LCD which will help when gettin in close with your shooting.
