Getting good video of your hunting adventures is a great time and fun to look back on. It does not take much of a video camera to get footage worth watching, but to get good quality footage, the more you spend the better off you will be. There are some good ones that are under $1000, but to get into TV quality you will need to spend at least twice that amount. The main part of choosing the best video camera for hunting is to determine a budget. Most cameras will be very similar regardless of brand as long as they are in the same price range.
A good place to start looking is here: http://www.bestforhunting.com/?page_id=514 where they have the best video cameras for hunting broke down by price range.

i looking to buy a camcorder to tape hunts. i'm not worried about the greatest picture quality, or sound, just a good video. i won't be using it for still pics, just video. i looking for something with a decent optical zoom, ability to capture footage at dawn and dusk, and most important not spend 1000 dollars. i'm not making professional videos for tv, just to put on the computer and share with friends and family. the lower the cost the better, but i will spend more if it will be worth it. please help if you can, been looking at many different options and i'm no closer to a decision than when i started looking, thank you
