Looking for an inexpensive 19" monitor

I am planning on purchasing a 19?LCD monitor and would like some input on which brands to avoid. User reviews that I have seen indicate avoiding Dell monitors for 2 reasons: 1) poor support (though I have never called any company for monitor support) and 2) brightness problem. The computer will be used for word processing, spreadsheets, surfing and emailing. I do not use RSS feeds or any kind or ?movie? stuff.
