Looking for a subwoofer

I just installed a new home theater in my basement. The room is about 400 square feet. I have 2 Infinity Primus P252 speakers (150W, 92dB) as the fronts. My center is an Infinty Primus P350 (150W, 90dB). The surrounds are TSS-1200sat. The system is being driven by a Pioneer VSX-919 (120W, .05%THD). I was looking at the Infinity PS212 subwoofer (400W, 12in) to complete the system, but have read a lot of reviews that said it has a high failur rate at arounf a year. I liked the idea of having a high powered sub in the system but dont want the risk of failure. I found a Polk Audio PSW505 (300W, 12in) but am concerned that this won't fill the room with bass as well. Am I just being paranoid? Will 300W do the job well? If not what are my other options? Were on a budget so I would need something thats around $300? Thanks for the help

Room size is fine

300 vs 400W for a sub won't really mean much unless you start outfitting a larger space.

Look at overall quality instead. There's no reason why the 505 wouldn't suffice.

I see the 505 is going for $230 at Amazon.

Is it loud enough? I can tell you this, if you crank that up to its max., I am not going to stay in that room with you. To me..loud sound is very annoying (maybe that's just me...or my hearing is still very good, hehe).

it seems like the 505 will get the job done
