Looking for a new laptop under $1000 (AUD) for general use

Hey guys I’ll be graduating from high school soon so I’ll have to hand my laptop back in and search for a new one.

For school I had a 13” 2015 MacBook Air. Horrible for gaming but it got school work done I guess. The computer we have at home is a 2011 iMac which is terrible in every way besides gaming.

I’m basically looking for a general use laptop for university and some light gaming. Pretty much any random game I could come across on steam.

I’ve been doing a little research with my super basic computer knowledge and I’ve found a few with specs that most sites I checked said were good enough.
