Looking for a good digital camera with good video

Jun 21, 2005 5:20AM PDT

I am looking for a good digital camera that can produce good video recording. I was thinking about getting the canon s70 but after i heard about the choppy video recording it discouraged me from buying it. Any suggestions? Also i would like a 7 megapixel camera but no less than a 6 megapixel camera.

Good Video

When you get into the higher end cameras like the S70, the Camera manufacturers are not too interested in video recording.

When you get into the DSLR (digital single lens cameras) you will not find any video ability on most of them.

The latest tiny cameras are working hard on improving the video capability.

Like the:
Canon SD500
Casio Z750
Fujifilm F10

..................

The video output of any digital camera will not look as good as a camcorder video.

The video on digital cameras eat up memory space quickly. You will need lots of memory cards.

Good Video..

So i guess it would be better to just buy a camcorder than right instead of having to purchase multiple memory cards. How is the canon s70 on image quality and all that? Is it good in low lighting and in highly lit areas? I was also looking at the Casio Exilim ex-z750? How does the Canon s70 compare to the Casio Exilim ex-z750? Thanks.

Casio Z750 - Canon S70

The Canon S70 has an excellent lens and it is a wide angle lens, with a 28mm focal length at the non zoom setting.

The Z750 has a sharp lens - just as sharp as the S70 but it does not show as much detail when you look at the photo a full size.

Example, when viewing at full size, small things like blades of grass are not distinct with the Z750, but you can see individual blades of grass with the S70.

The Z750 produces a great photo but it does not measure up to the S70.
