Looking for a dvd burner for Dell laptop

I'm looking for a dvd burner for my daughters laptop.
It is a Dell inspiron 7500. I've been shopping on the web and on cnet and I can't figure out if these burners I'm looking at are for desktops AND laptops or is there any difference . I've never owned a burner so I am a dvd dummy .She really only needs a cd burner but I hear I might as well go ahead and get a dvd burner . External vs. internal ? Would about any burner be compatable ? tHANKS

IF you know what you're doign get internal. Its the slim ones. NEWEGG.COM sells cheap and good site.

I'll give that site a try . I would like to get her an internal because she tends to carry her laptop around the house . I'll see what newegg has and get back with you.
