Looking for a content management system to upload word

Sep 3, 2007 12:14PM PDT

I am looking for a content management system where I can just upload a Microsoft Word article including embedded images. The ones I have see allow me to copy and paste the article but I lose formatting and I lose embedded images.

Thanks for any help you can give me

Are you looking for some Word to HTML converter? It's been over 10 years since the first one came out and none have done a great job. Mostly due to the fact there is no printer definition for web content.

Word to html

Actually what I am looking for is to take a word document which includes embedded images and upload it to a content management system or use copy and past to put it in the CMS

Doens't the usual content management system ...

offer a standard lay-out with separate entry of text and pictures? The ability to upload any document in any fancy lay-out seems contrary to that idea.

I can't say I ever heard of that feature... to upload a word document and have it create a post. Especially with the images... it would have to have an uploader built in etc. Usually blogs can have style sheets which means in whatever form you post it, it will convert it to look whichever way you want. You may also want to try to copy the HTML code from your word document and paste it as HTML and see if the layout stays the same when you publish.

Images issue

You will most likely also run into an issue with the embedded images. I am not sure how most CMS will handle trying to upload a picture that is just imbedded in the text.
