Feb 19, 2010 9:57PM PST

I am looking for PP or OO template, does anybody know where to find to find it?

long ago, I found a free template with the following background.

for the title slide

and

for the follow on slides

I am not sure if it was a PP or Open Office template, but I would like to get my hands on it again as I lost the original. Of course I spend time on Google etc but did not find it. Anybody know where I can find a copy? Or someone has a copy?

Thanks

backgrounds are available but how to extract
Feb 20, 2010 3:05PM PST

> All MS Powerpoint templates, from MS, can be found at: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/default.aspx

I was there no luck, I think it came from one of these free sites. I was hoping someone recognised the pictures.

The backgrounds are available but how to extract them from existing shows to make a template? I think I will need to extract them as the show they are in is corrupted (bullets do not stick see : http://www.officeformac.com/ms/ProductForums/PowerPoint/3424) and if I copy the old show and make a template of it, it takes the corruption with it.

The pictures I posted are of really bad quality, so not fit to use.

Template files at MS
Feb 20, 2010 3:39PM PST

The mechanism used to search for templates or clipart within Office, works for Office on a PC or a Mac. When you try to circumvent the process and get the files yourself then it will be up to you to figure how to extract the files.

I say, don't download templates without using the functions within Office.

But, even if you get some Powerpoint templates yourself, they should be .POT files, not .CAB files. And .POT files are Powerpoint templates.

OK but I do not know how to get a template either from the website you suggested, or manually download it and get it in to PPT. help me out here.

OK, and I can not find it in PPT 2004. do you know where it is?

.pot, this I know, and since .cab is a windooz compression type format used by Win installers it seems useless to me, hence I wonder as to how to use these on a Mac.

Sorry no Mac details

I just found I can't use my Mac Office software right now. I'll try to get that resolved, but that doesn't help you right now.

If Office for Mac runs like it does on the PC then when you use the Office application, and we are talking Powerpoint right now, then you just use the "Open" command.

With the Open window, you should see some selections for "My templates" and also for "Online templates"

Using the Online templates selection will take you to the MS website to search for templates with some theme or features that you enter in the search field. You will even see small thumbnails of those items, so you might trip across the background you are looking for.

What is nice about using the tools within Office to get templates of clipart is that you can select multiple items and when you finally have what you want selected you click on the download button and all those items will get downloaded and placed into there correct locations. You don't have to tell Office where you want stuff to go. You don't even have to uncompress the files, because whatever is used to compact the files on the MS servers is handled properly from within Office.

It is all fairly easy. I can't imagine that the tools within Office for Mac being any less easy.

"Online templates" not in my Mac
Feb 21, 2010 3:43PM PST

when I open a new PPT doc it opens just one new doc, no choice.

If I use the project page where I have "My templates" I see no such thing as "Online templates". also looking elsewhere I see no such option. could it be it is not available in Mac 2004 version?
