Accused hatched triple murder plot online, trial hears

MEDICINE HAT, Alta. -- One month before the murders of a local family, a lovestruck 12-year-old girl and her 23-year-old boyfriend hatched a plot on the Internet to kill them and live together, a court heard Friday.

Jurors at the now 13-year-old girl's first-degree murder trial in Medicine Hat's Court of Queen's Bench read transcripts taken from her Nexopia web page. In them, the accused's much older boyfriend, Jeremy Allan Steinke, who went by the online name "souleater," calls the Grade 7 student "cuddlebunny," "sexy" and "beautiful."
