Longer wire needed for HT-BD1250

Aug 26, 2009 9:08PM PDT

I am looking at getting the HT-BD1250, but I will need to run a longer wire than what is provided for some of the speakers. Is there a problem splicing the included proprietary connectors to other wire? What is the best way to do this, espeically if the new wire is a different gauge (ie 12 or 14)?

Also, what is the maximum size wire that will fit in the back of the speakers (12, 14, etc)?

Splice

I have an old 6.1 system for one of my computers, but I never use the rear center speaker, so I sacrificed its cable and spliced it onto the cable of one of the speakers for the BD1250. I didn't use any special equipment. I just twined the the cables together and used regular tape for insulation. It seems to work just fine.
