Mar 7, 2016 3:04PM PST

The cable that comes with the camera is too short.
I need a longer cable for both of the smartcams hd pro I have.

Does anybody know any retailer where I may find it??

Thanks in advance

I have seen that video before but you need to know some kind of electricity to do it, to keep the same current and voltage along the powercord. I dont know much of this, that's why i'm looking for a "ready to use" cable. The dropcam has a 20ft cable you can buy apart, I dont know why samsumg doesnt do the same thing.

That I might be able to explain.

Most companies follow some rule like 80/20 or some other set to deliver products that hit the mark for 80% of the market with a set of features for a price. 80/20 is one of the better efforts since you will get your price point down and satisfy 80% of the consumer wants without pushing up the price.

If you see the dropcam does what you need, then you switch to the product that has what you need.

Dropcam is great but paying 100 dlls anually for each cameras to record videos to the cloud is absurd. I already got the smartcam so I'm not switching now.
I was just asking if anybody could knoe about a longer power cable for it.

If my option was to change the cam I'd have not asked any question.

Then my advice is to check those prior answers.

I know a lot of folk didn't take any electronics or electrical courses in school so they may feel squeamish about making a longer cable.

The problem of having it made can be the cost. The min counter fee here is 150USD and that's no parts yet.

There are plenty of YouTubes about cable making, soldering and more so it's not a matter of a lack of information here but could be folk want to just buy the cable BUT there isn't such offered. At that point you get to make a cable.
