Logo help

Mar 24, 2008 3:42AM PDT

Hello everyone, I have a little problem, I know the answer has to be simple but i can't remember how to fix it...

Ok I am in intro to HTML class and I am to take a html file and edit it, to fix the errors. then upload it to the schools server to my webspace, no I know I am to make a folder for the files, so I did, it's name is "Webspace" in that folder I made two more folders, one "images" the other "html files".The actual html that I edited is in the html files folder. Now I need to add the schools logo to the page, the logo is in the image folder, but for some reason when I pull the page up it's not coming up on the page.

I'm sorry it's long and drawn out, but I wanted to say every step I made in the process, do you guys know what I did wrong here?

One more thing, on the tut, from the school, they wanted me to download a file called "index.htm" this is to update the webspace...I'm so confused now, help please...?

Thanks guys

1. For the logo: with your setup, you've got to study absolute versus relative addressing. You'll need to move up to the parent, then down again to find the image.

2. Html-files don't update the website. You're the only one that does it. Better ask what they mean, or reread the assignment. For example, are you sure they say download, not upload? You can only download something that's already on it.
And as you sureluy know, the only special thing about index.htm is that it is read by the browser if it looks in the folder and you don't specify another file to read.

Hope this helps.

Just to hurry and submit m y site for class,i put the logo in with the html file like the book said I could lol still didn't work, I must have missed a step. I will post back later ( this afternoon sometime), after I got my grade and see what my instructor has to say...and you know they put absolute versus relative addressing assignment for next week, maybe it was just something to see if the class would notice...I don't know...lol anywho thanks Kees!

Thanks again for getting back with me
