Logitech Optical Mouse Goes to Sleep

Jul 1, 2006 10:34PM PDT

My mouse buttons will occasionally go to sleep on me. I'll be able to move the cursor freely, but right- or left-clicking won't have any effect. To wake it up, I have to do some keyboard operation, like calling up the task manager with control-alt-erase. It then allows me to click inside that window, close it, and click normally on whatever page I'm on. This happens regardless of whether I'm online or not, and ALWAYS when I come to the computer after not using it for a while. Any help?
I'm on Windows XP SP2.
