Logitech Harmony 880 remote

Hello. I bought a harmony 880 yesterday, but I am having trouble with the button response. This is especially apparent with the "activities" and the "devices" buttons. When I press them nothing happens. And when they do work its usually from having to press them repeatedly or holding it down. Is there a way to fix this, or do I have a bad remote. Thank you.

I have one...

Got it as a gift, dont use it.

It does work well, you probably need to replace the batteries. I noticed that once I got it programmed that It does have a delay, you quickly press a few buttons, then dont get a response then click it again and the thing ques up your clicks then sends the signals and the tv starts responding to button clicks you did a few secs ago.

It is a nice little unit, but small details deterred me from using it. I cant stand hearing the volume and channel button click when i press them. I like to surf so all i hear as im surfing is click click click ...the cats think im trying to get their attention with the clicker as they all stare at it while I surf channels.

The activities works, but once you have got everything up and running, you have to go into a specific device to control it as you would expect, so yes it controls a lot, but requires a fair amount of familliarity with the thing and lots of button clicking to get what you want out of it.

So, I just use the stack of remotes as I always have.

You might have a bad remote, or it could be other possibilites. I reprogrammed a friend's 880, b/c the installers did a poor job. I noticed that the charging station or the rechargable batteries were not doing well. 1) Rehargable batteries will die too, you know.

Did you program it? Go into the devices part of the online programming, and find "delay". Something like that, there might be more than one. 2) If aervelo is waiting actual seconds, I might assume those delays are set way too high.

3) And even if the delays are pretty minimal, you still need to point the remote at the components for a good second or so.

Aervelo is right about sometimes needing to go into "devices". However I just programmed key functions into any activity I wanted. Even with the el cheapo 520 model. good luck.
