Flip the mouse upside down. If it continues to move (do not wave your hand over it!) then it's defective.
If it stops then it doesn't like the surface it's on. Try a sheet of paper or some other mouse pad.
That's the troubleshooting for it creeping when you feel it shouldn't.
Lastly for wild movements, unplug it and uninstall ALL logitech software. Uninstall all MOUSE DRIVERS and use the windows stock driver it finds on its own.

I have the T-RB22 Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman, run XP on a Dell Inspiron 530. The cursor goes crazy! It will zip to the left of the screen as though a magnet were pulling it. I will try and click on something and the cursor moves. Very frustrating.
I have done the following: cleaned the lens, cleaned the ball, uninstalled SetPoint and reinstalled the lastest software, changed USB ports, the enhanced pointer precision is not enabled. I don't know what to do next. Any help is appreciated.
