bob it seems it is just about the same as reshack with a little different interface so far just don't do me much good as it displays the same info. what i want is to be able to change the position of the welcome message. i know its in gui table but don't understand the code. also would like to be able to change the font on the same. any other ideas? i found the font size selection in the string table. maybe there there is some applications that can be downloaded that i can use to create my own from scratch that is easy to use.

Clear your mind and use only the Forum TITLE and your posts.

It's not clear what you are attempting to do or to what.

ok bob. i have some logons that i have replaced the bitmaps in. you may ask why i replaced the bitmaps. i did because not all logons are written with a welcome and shutdown message. well the logon i replaced bitmap in has the welcome message right over the bitmap and is not easily seen. i would like to move the welcome message to a different location on screen so it can be seen. i like to personalize my pc quite a lot. dont like anything looking stock lol

I can only guess you want to modify an OS. Not much more... No version noted.

Drewchief,

With every post you make, the following tip appears.

Tip: If you are asking for help to troubleshoot a computer-related problem, please be sure to include all the necessary information (ie: operating system, model number, hardware, software, etc) that will help others identify your problem for a speedy resolution.

I asked many times for you to tell what you were trying to do and to what. Your clues were far too sparse for me to carry on any meaningful conversation.

--------------------------

Your last post revealed enough information that you need to look at THEME SOFTWARE for XP. But I won't be looking for such since such may be duplicative work. You could share what didn't work for you.

I would then try to remember those packages and see if I remember some feature that you would have overlooked.

Have you looked at the STARDOCK packages? Do they achieve the EFFECT? No I'm not asking if they let you edit it. We must look to see if someone is achieving the effect first.

i want to use reshack to edit the welcome message position and the shutdown message position. i dont know the proper way to edit the dialog in reshack.
we are definately missing each other here. like we are on a two lane hiway going opposite directions and don't see each other lol. its not really a computer problem just wanting to edit some loginui files to my own prefernce. haven't tried stardock as of yet. i use style xp to do the switching of logons and reshack to do the editing. will check into stardock and let you know. might be a while for next reply got to make a trip to richmond, In and look at some koi angel fish with wife. she loves her fish.Happy
