logged on, but forgot password

I'm using Windows Vista. I am in the admin account, but I cannot remember the password. What do I do, now??

I'm fairly computer illiterate, so I'm going to try my best to make this make sense; I was in the midst of changing my admin password, but while waiting for the password to change, got a "not responding" in the window. I wasn't sure if the password took or not, so I attempted to change it, again. No deal. Was told that the password was incorrect. I'm not sure how that could be, since I'd JUST changed it to that password.
For about 2 hours, I've tried several variations of the original password, the new password and everything in between.

Google NTPASSWD. It's what I use to change the admin password then in that account I can change other passwords.

Question: How 'involved' is this process? Codes and things of that nature make me break out in hives and bring about a migraine!

I booted the CD and pressed the return key a lot. What seems to scare people off is all the information that flies across the screen.

If free isn't going to work, try http://www.lostpassword.com but that's a little dough but not as scary to some.

Thanks Bob.. I created a new admin account, since I was still in the account and then reset password from new account.
