Locking text in Microsoft Word 2000

Sep 24, 2007 8:45PM PDT

I am developing a macro (using VB) in Word 2000 which will pop up a small interface. When the user clicks "OK" on this interface, the information filled in the interface will then go into Word at specific locations.

I want this information in Word to be locked so that if the user wants to edit the information, he has to use the template only.

How can I lock the text generated be the macro?

You can't.

It seems you've chosen the wrong tool for your requirements.

Either accept it can't be done, or find a different way to meet your requirements. Only presenting a not-working solution isn't the best way to get ideas for alternatives.
