Locked out of replys to questions

Why am I being locked out of reply's to queries with the admonition that obscene, product promotion etc. is not allowed. What's up with that?

Clarification Request

I do know that the CNET forums do tend to not post if you run an adblocker.

Every where

Every post reply!

Except this one. What is this.....?

- Collapse -
Most likely the usual.

There are many complaints about CNET forums, can't reply and time and again it's the adblocker.

Many folk don't know what their setup is or if their antivirus included an adblocker but if you block ads, the replies may not work.

Do not have ad blockers for this site. C-NET keeps asking for a 'settings' change for notifications which are are turned on . Still a load of....Just looking for info and trying to acknowledge reply's.
Thanks for your reply

I wonder if this is not a forum issue.

Link to the discussion that has this issue. If this is in the COMMENTS section of then that's not this forum but the web site. As to discussions here, there is a recurring issue with adblockers and the issue can vanish as the ads rotate and the adblocker kicks in or not. Some folk have melted down over that but there is no sign ads are going away.

I don't see any prompt for notifcations here so are you asking about a non-forum issue?

Only forum category that is remotely usable. Thanks for the reply.

Please supply a link to the forum post.

Without a link to the forum post that has an issue I can't look at that.

And even then I'll probably have to kick it up to Lee. Let's have a link since this forum discussion is of course working.

Kick it up wherever! lol. My replies on the forum post/questions for streaming will still not be accepted. Respondents are long time members.
STILL getting "SETTINGS" "NOTIFICATIONS" requests.... really? very frustrated... Simple questions. A lot of wasted time...

And again

Replying to info from helpful people who are NOT using obscenities or promoting products and I am locked out of replying. What a load of manure. Worked yesterday not today!

I wonder what browser

Some browsers get a little wonky when they want to update ....
Just curious ...

P.s , I forgot to ask if you have logged off and back in again ?

Firefox and Chrome working OK here

Did you do a naughty that got you a temporary block here? If so, would have gotten a message sent to email address you registered under. The same won't block you from Feedback Forum, because it's the complaint one.

Hi Randomlaker,

Sorry for the troubles you are experiencing with our forums.

Your account is in good standing here and you are not being blocked from posting in the forums.

A few questions for you, when you click on the "Reply" link to respond to someone, is it not working--meaning nothing happens where the reply form doesn't show up? Or is it you see the reply form, fill it out and submit and nothing happens?

If the "reply" link doesn't respond, try this. Refresh the forum page that you are on, wait a few seconds for everything to load, and try clicking on the "reply" link again and see if that works. What is happening is the JavaScript on the page somehow failed to load and Javascript is required for the reply form to appear.

Give that a try. If it's a different scenario, please describe exactly what is happening so I can look into it.

Thank you for your help and sorry about your frustrations.
