Question

Lock Screen

Apr 12, 2017 2:30AM PDT

Why did Microsoft made it impossible to disable the lock screen either logging in when booting up or when the computer goes to sleep? I have tried different methods aka "tricks" to do so and without success.

Probably because they find it a good place to give you tips and notifications. You would miss those if you could disable it, as you could in the first release of Windows 10.

Tips and Notifications?

Am I missing something? I have never noticed any tips and notifications while the lock screen is on.

and to no avail, when I put the computer to sleep and after I revive it, the lock screen comes on. I used option #2 to disable it when the computer goes to sleep. As for Option #1, I followed the instructions and there too it will not disable the lock screen. When I go to User Account, I see the box unchecked and yet, the lock screen still comes on after the computer has booted. I will give your suggestion a try by putting a cd in the drive.
