lock code lgl-16c

Tried to use live chat on LG website to get an answer for this, but something's messed up there: Started out with "approximately" 11 people ahead of me. That didn't change for a long, long time. Tried refreshing: Now approximately 15 people ahead of me. That also didn't change for a good 20 minutes. Refreshed again: approximately 2 people ahead of me. 30 minutes later, I gave up and came here. Hopefully I will have better luck.
Last night I put a 4 digit lock code on my phone. Big mistake. It's a total pain in the neck. I want to remove it. Couldn't figure out how to do it, so checked LG website for instructions for this model. Those instructions didn't help: The option to choose "none" is greyed out. All it will allow me to do is change the code to another, or to another type. I don't want a lock code. So how do I get rid of it?
