Lock button and 3 power plans

by Dawg Monitor / December 23, 2010 4:13 PM PST

Hello and thanks if you can help
Though Vista is not in everyone favor, I did miss some of the features that I commonly used. One of them was the lock button next to the shutdown button. Is there a way, hack, software, etc, to return the lock button? Also, the option to have three power plans when clicking the mini power management window on the task bar. Is there a way to return it to three instead of two?

Have you made changes anyway?

I just noticed that you said your Shutdown button is displayed on that Start Menu.

That is not normal and the default is, Sleep, Lock, Options.

Did you change this default setup? If so how?

Sorry, forgot to tell you I'm using window 7. I just want to see those small features back in in window 7 like in vista.

Not Vista then

Sorry I misunderstood your original post.

I'm not sure it can be done so that the 3 button options that display in Vista are also displayed in the Windows 7 Start Menu. There are ways to change the power button to whatever you wish, but that will only be the one button. For the other options you will still have to click the 'right pointing arrow'.

There may be hacks, but I haven't seen any, and I would be cautious in any case.

That said, the link below shows how you can change the default action for the power button to any that you wish;

I hope that helps.
