Hi I am looking for some advice please ? I have opened an email and looking at the header header info have located an IP address registered to gmx.com but further down the message are 2 more ip addresses under received. I was wondering if this the location of where the original email was sent from to go to Gmx.com to be sent to me I that makes sense.

The first IP-address is from the sender if he uses pop3. If he uses webmail, it most likely is the server with the provider of the webmail.

Easy to check: send an e-mail to yourself from your pop3-client (if you have one) and/or from your gmail or hotmail account via your browser.

can track IP numbers at arin.net, or if originated overseas they will point you in the right direction like to Ripenet and so forth.
