I think the partition type for HFS+ in fdisk is "af" while FAT32 is "c".
XP doesn't support HFS+ so all bets are off what XP will do or report about that. Your partition issues may require a call to Partition Magic's help line.
I have Windows XP Home Edition on a Toshiba Satellite A35-S159. When I open My Computer, there is a category named Other and under it there is a hard disk icon I think with a red circle over it. In the red circle is a white question mark. I have tried to use disk manager to delete it but it does not show up there. I have also tried using partition magic t delete it but it doesn't see it until I create a AF format partition. Then when I restart, it claims to be it but I still can not delete it in partition magic, on rebot, it says it is not visible and even when partition magic sees it, disk manager does not. Has anyone encountered this and know how to get rid of it. I have also tried ad-aware and hijack this but neither found it. Please help, this thing is driving me nuts! Thank you
