Local Area Connection Status - Need help with...

need help... at the mo its showing packets sent and recieved. how do i change it so it shows bytes sent and recieved?

I had it on that setting once b4 but forget how I did it.

OS is XP Pro SP 2

You don't

You'll have to get a third party program to do that. But it's a pretty useless statistic, since there's a pretty constant stream of packets, even when the connection is idle. Sort of an idle chitchat while they wait for you to provide a more meaningful subject. So if you're measuring words spoken (packets sent/received) it's going to mess up your figures.

I dont want both,I want it to show the amount of traffic comming and goign to and from my pc from the Nic just not in packets, but in bytes sent and recieved.

Open a command window in XP. Type this

NETSTAT -E

Bytes? Done.
