Loading Xp Media Addition

Aug 6, 2007 11:01AM PDT

Im trying to load Windows XP Media and its giving me an error that states "cannot be run in Win32 mode". I have no idea what this means or if there is something I can change on the computer to allow it to run? Thanks for any help.

Usualy means you put the CD in when Windows was running.

It appears to me you have that OEM version which does not allow an upgrade. Are you sure you can wipe out what you have on the hard disk? Also did you collect all the drivers for your machine BEFORE you started?

Its a friends PC, not sure if its removalable or not. She currently has XP Pro and we wanted to load Media. Is there a way to load it instead of upgrading, everything is backed up and I have a recover disk for the driver and so on. Thanks agian for any help you can offer.

Depends on the version.

I'm guessing here you have the OEM version (you haven't revealed which yet) which you install by booting off that CD...

Not to sound stupid here but Im not sure what you mean by the OEM version? The computer has XP Pro and I have a set of reload CD's for XP Media. Do you mind explaining more of what information you are looking for from me. Again sorry to sound stupid here and Im really thankful for your help.
